    Oceaneering Announces Promotion of James (Jim) Buchli to Vice President & Program Manager

    June 12, 2008

    June 12, 2008 – Houston, Texas – Oceaneering International, Inc. (NYSE:OII) announced the promotion of Mr. James (Jim) Buchli to Vice President & Program Manager.  In this capacity, he will lead Oceaneering’s efforts to design and build America’s next generation space suit, the Constellation Space Suit System (CSSS), for NASA.

    Mr. Buchli’s career includes 25 years in the Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of Colonel and was a highly decorated infantryman and aviator, and 13 years at NASA.  He became an astronaut in 1979 and is veteran of four Space Shuttle flights, orbiting the earth 319 times and traveling over 7.7 million miles.  After leaving NASA, Mr. Buchli spent the next 15 years as an aerospace industry executive at the Boeing Co. and United Space Alliance (USA), and joined Oceaneering in 2007.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, and a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering Systems from the University of West Florida.
